Description
This session will focus on Hogmanay 1929 and the Glen Cinema Disaster. What is the history of the cinema? What happened on that hogmanay afternoon? Who died and where did they come from? This session is based on a talk given to the Scottish Interest Group of the Ontario Family History Society during 2025.
This session will be held in Blend Coffee Lounge in Paisley Arts Centre, New Street, Paisley, PA1 1EZ on Saturday 17th January 2026 between 10 and 11.30pm. Each history cafe has limited places available (6) and these can be booked here for £5. All profits from the History Cafes go to the Beatson Cancer Charity.

All bookings are non-refundable if you fail to attend the event. If the Urban Historian has to cancel the event, a refund or opportunity to attend the rescheduled event, or another event will be offered.
